Why the new breed of entrepreneurs desire Applecross

Part of Melville City, Applecross is one of Perth’s premium inner-city suburbs. Only 8 km away from the Perth CBD, it is bound by the Canning Highway and Swan River and with a population of nearly 7,000 residents.

Applecross is a predominantly residential area with a mixture of homes that cater to buyers across all levels. According to the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA), over 60% of its property types are homes, nearly 25% are semi-detached dwellings, and approximately 12% are apartments.

The type of buyers Applecross often attracts is entrepreneurs aged 40 to 50. They are effortlessly drawn to the precinct with the certain modesty, humility, and understated elegance evident in the Applecross air. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, you would immediately feel at home and connected, and this goes hand in hand with the 2016 Census which revealed that the median age in this precinct is 43 and the second biggest age group is 35 to 49 with 23.6%.

As someone who’s been living in Applecross for the past seven years, I’ve seen several entrepreneurs grow their families here. With nearby local schools like Saint Benedict and Applecross Primary and High schools, this comes as no surprise. In turn, their children also want to start their own family in Applecross. Families become fiercely loyal to this riverside suburb because once you’ve experienced the best, there’s no turning back.

As a family man who is raising his children in this neighbourhood, I am absolutely proud to live and breathe Applecross.
